A Global Hand of Friendship Reaches Te-Oteng Community School

At COPI, our mission has always been to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity. This week, that mission took a beautiful, tangible form as we witnessed a remarkable act of international solidarity at the Te-Oteng Community School in Anyomotwon Village.

A Journey of Kindness from Belgium

We were honored to facilitate a special visit from Gaëlle plettinx and her father, Cedric plettinx, who traveled all the way from Belgium with a singular goal: to support the education of children in rural Gulu.

The initiative was driven by Gaelle’s heartfelt desire to make a difference. Recognizing that many students in Anyomotwon face challenges in accessing basic school supplies, Gaelle organized a collection of high-quality scholastic materials to ensure that no child’s learning is hindered by a lack of tools.

Strengthening the Foundation of Learning

The COPI team accompanied the plettinx family as they officially handed over the supplies to the Headmaster of Te-Oteng Community School. The schoolroom was filled with excitement as the following items were donated:

  • Primary Learning Tools: A vast collection of exercise books, notebooks, and folders to organize schoolwork.
  • Creative & Writing Supplies: Boxes of pens, pencils, colored pencils, and crayons to encourage both academic and artistic growth.
  • Classroom Essentials: Stationery, adhesives, and teaching aids to support the dedicated staff in their daily instruction.

The Headmaster expressed deep gratitude, noting that these materials do more than just fill bags they boost the morale of the students and show them that the world is cheering for their success.

Why This Matters

For COPI, this collaboration exemplifies the power of Community-Led Development. By connecting global well-wishers like Gaelle and Cedric with local institutions like Te-Oteng, we create a sustainable network of support.

As the school’s mission statement reminds us: “To empower young learners with strong academic foundations… that prepare them for a bright future.” This donation is a vital step toward that brightness.

Join Our Mission

Stories like Gaelle’s prove that anyone, regardless of age or distance, can spark change. We thank the Plentix family for their trust in COPI and their dedication to the children of Gulu.
