The Te-Oteng Water and Sanitation Project is a community-centered initiative designed to improve access to safe water and dignified sanitation for Te-Oteng Community School and neighbouring communities.

The project responds to long-standing challenges related to water scarcity, hygiene, and sanitation, which directly affect health, learning outcomes, and overall community wellbeing. By providing sustainable water and sanitation infrastructure, the project supports a healthier, safer, and more enabling environment for children and community members alike.

Project Objectives

The Te-Oteng Water and Sanitation Project aims to:

  • Provide reliable access to clean and safe water for students, staff, and surrounding community members
  • Improve sanitation and hygiene standards within the school
  • Reduce water-related health risks and improve overall wellbeing
  • Support a conducive learning environment, especially for children
  • Promote community ownership and sustainable use of shared resources

Key Project Components

The project successfully delivered the following:

  • A clean underground water source, ensuring a dependable and safe water supply
  • Sanitary toilet facilities for the school, designed to promote hygiene, privacy, and dignity
  • Community engagement to encourage shared responsibility and long-term sustainability
